Mary-I spend very little time doing home visits, other than doing assessments. If I’m visiting someone it’s because I’m assessing what the situation is or I’m reviewing the situation. I’m going to gather information to bring it back, to put on the system, to update it. I very rarely spend time with people sitting and chatting, how you doing? It’s very service led and it’s worrying because obviously they’re vulnerable people out there and you want to support them as best as you can. But you don’t have time for that social work role. It’s about recording, evidencing all the time what you’re doing. [Extract from interview]
